Learning Outcomes

The Web of Life weaves science, language arts, history and culture, art and handwork, gardening, and practical life skills throughout the curriculum.

Each lesson naturally integrates multiple subject areas, helping children see how learning connects in the real world. Designed for ages 5–10, the curriculum follows the seasons with eight hands-on lessons each month featuring nature, science, garden-to-kitchen learning, homesteading, and creative expression. The accordion below highlights the specific subjects, skills, and learning outcomes included throughout all lessons.

What Your Child Will Learn

Every lesson in The Web of Life is carefully designed to teach real academic concepts through meaningful, hands-on experiences.

When your child harvests vegetables, they aren't simply gardening.

They're studying plant science.

When they bake together, they're practicing chemistry, measuring, sequencing, reading, and critical thinking.

When they build, explore, sketch, observe wildlife, or create with their hands, they're developing the same skills taught in traditional classrooms—but in ways children naturally remember.

Instead of memorizing facts for a test, they experience them.

Every month includes opportunities to explore science, language arts, history, art, practical life skills, and nature through eight carefully designed lessons. Families can also document what they've learned with optional Student Submission Documentation, making it easy to keep records, create portfolios, or satisfy many charter school requirements.
